Did you hear the one about the invisible gorilla? It’s the headline from a book that provides convincing evidence that most of our perceptions about the world around us are faulty. We misinterpret important information (or miss it altogether), our “best memories” are often wrong, and we confuse the appearance of confidence with competence. Because of these illusions that hold sway in our lives, and our unawareness of them, poor financial decisions are almost inevitable. And yet, there is a way to overcome the invisible gorillas in your life.
