Michael Ghioto**, Vice President

Michael is guided by the belief that long term financial success is impacted by the multitude of small decisions we all make every year. Michael works with his clients to understand the impact of these small decisions in order to build strong financial foundations and create a road map for achieving our long-term financial goals.

Michael joined Ashford Advisors in 2004 after being a client of the firm for five years. His prior experience includes banking and consulting. Michael’s greatest fulfillment is building long-term relationships with clients and assisting them as they progress through the various seasons of their financial lives.

Based on his desire to see other people succeed, Michael was asked in 2008 to serve as a mentor and coach for new associates joining Ashford Advisors. As Vice President, this mentorship role has expanded to include Michael’s involvement in recruiting and selecting candidates to join the firm.

Upon completion of his first year in financial services, Michael earned the firm’s most prestigious award for our new associates, the Ed Mattingly New Associate of the Year award. This award is based on a multitude of criteria which recognizes an associate’s service to his clientele, professional development and growth, as well as his leadership.

Michael graduated from the University of Georgia in 1991 with a Bachelors degree in Finance. After several years in the workforce, he returned to the University of Georgia to earn his Masters in Business Administration in 1998. He continues to be active in the Alumni Association and has been asked numerous times to speak in classroom settings and special events about his experiences in the industry.

Michael was raised on Saint Simons Island, Georgia and moved to Atlanta in 1998. Michael and his wife, Lara, have been married since 2001 and have three children, Jack, Elizabeth, and Samuel. They are members of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Marietta. Michael’s hobbies include various outdoor pursuits, fishing, and golf.
