William R. Mumpower, CLU®, CFP®**, Executive Vice President

A native of Big Stone Gap, Virginia, Bill Mumpower began his career in financial services in 1976. He has been active in the financial services industry for over 30 years, qualifying multiple times for the Million Dollar Round Table and was named one of Atlanta's FIVE STAR Best in Client Satisfaction Wealth Managers in 2008 and 2009.

Having been with Ashford Advisors since 1999, Bill has served as a key member of the management team and currently holds the position of Executive Vice President. His primary focus is in the area of investments, although he continues to assist key advisors and brokers in the areas of estate, business continuity, charitable and executive benefit planning.

Professionally, Bill holds the designations of Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®), and Certified Financial Planner (CFP®). He has moderated both the personal and business insurance courses offered through the Life Underwriters Training Council. He regularly conducts continuing professional education seminars on insurance and investment related matters.

In industry affairs, Bill is a member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals, the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, having served as past Secretary and past President of his local association.

Community involvement has included service in both Kiwanis International and Lions Club, where he served as Secretary-Treasurer. He is a member of Dunwoody Country Club and Ravinia Club in Atlanta, Georgia, where he enjoys playing golf and racquetball. Bill has also been actively involved in his church, including past service as Treasurer and conducting seminars on planned giving. Bill and his wife, Julie, live in Duluth. Bill has two grown daughters and one grandson.
