Matt Usher

Matt Usher launched his career in financial services in 2008. When he joined Ashford Advisors, Matt found a career that gave him the opportunity to make a positive impact on people’s lives and to build meaningful relationships with his clients by helping them make important financial decisions based on their future dreams and goals. While he works primarily with Dental Residents and Specialists, he also enjoys working with individuals and families who want help reaching their long-term financial goals.

Matt gained valuable experience in the health sector of the insurance industry prior to joining Ashford Advisors. He worked for BenefitMall in Alpharetta, Georgia for two years before returning home to Savannah. At BenefitMall, Matt was a Broker Sales Representative in the health insurance and group benefits marketplace.

Matt is a 2006 graduate of the University of Georgia, where he earned a degree from the Terry College of Business in Risk Management and Insurance. While in college, Matt regularly earned honors on the Dean’s List, recognizing students for academic excellence in the previous semester. Prior to college, Matt attended Benedictine Military School in Savannah. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 57, and earned his Eagle Scout in 2001.

Matt’s passion for community service came in part from his training as a Boy Scout and continues to this day. Currently, Matt is involved in Relay for Life Savannah, part of the American Cancer Society. Matt is a member of the Coastal Empire Association of Health Underwriters and is on the Annual Banquet Committee for the Savannah Chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association. Matt is also President of the Savannah Jaycees and is a member of the Savannah Chapter of the University of Georgia Alumni Association.

Matt is a native of Savannah, Georgia, and attends Skidaway Island Presbyterian Church. He and his wife, Kelli, were married in 2010 and live in the Savannah area. They are both avid skiers in the winter and during the summer, enjoy all kinds of water sports. They also enjoy being with family and friends, and playing with their dog, Gus.
