W. Ray Williams

Ray Williams joined Ashford Advisors in Savannah in 2001. Prior to Ashford Advisors, Ray spent over 25 years working in employee benefits and financial services. His work history includes serving as the Director of Georgia Healthcare Partnership, the managed health care division of Memorial Health in Savannah. Prior to that, he was a Director for the Gwinnett Hospital System, Director of Staywell, a Control Data Corporation division, and a Vice President for the American Lung Association of New York.

Ray graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology in 1971. While in college, he was a member of the Chi Psi fraternity. He went on to graduate from Georgia State University in 1976 with a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology.

Ray is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters, where he is a former president of his local chapter. He began working in employee benefits early on in his career and continues to specialize in this area, serving as the broker and consultant for many organizations in the Savannah area.

Ray has been in Savannah since 1991. He and his wife, Carolyn, were married in 2004. They are active physically and socially in their community. They are members of Whitemarsh Island Baptist Church where they lead a small group Bible study in their home. They are both very active in their church on various committees as well as helping in several administrative areas. They also volunteer their time at the Old Savannah City Mission. Ray has four sons, Toby, Chris, Eric and Anthony and one grandson. During his leisure time, Ray enjoys playing golf, running, working out, and doing things with his family.
