Brett Godwin is a Financial Advisor with Ashford Advisors, driven by a genuine passion for both the financial industry and helping people pursue what matters most to them. A coach and teacher at heart, Brett is energized by working alongside individuals and families, helping them gain clarity, build confidence, and see what’s truly possible as they work toward their goals.
Before joining Ashford Advisors, Brett spent 10 years as a high school educator, teaching at Mill Creek High School and Denmark High School. During that time, he taught a Financial Services pathway, guiding students through financial fundamentals, investment principles, and the insurance industry. His dedication to education and leadership extended beyond the classroom as he led the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) program, preparing more than 450 students annually and helping the Georgia chapter earn Chapter of the Year honors twice.
In addition to his career in education, Brett brings a strong background in athletics and coaching. He spent 10 years as a youth soccer coach, including four years with Atlanta United FC, where he coached in the organization’s professional development academy - scouting and preparing young athletes for the next level. Brett also played Division I college soccer at Presbyterian College, serving as a team captain for two years, experiences that shaped his leadership style and team-first mindset.
Today, Brett brings the same principles of coaching, discipline, and long-term development to his work as a Financial Advisor. He believes financial planning is not just about numbers. It’s about empowering people to live fully and intentionally, with a plan that supports their passions and protects the people they love.
Outside of work, Brett and his family are extremely active and love spending time outdoors, running, exercising, and enjoying life together. Becoming a father has been a defining turning point in his life, and watching his boys grow and experience new things is his greatest joy and daily inspiration.
