Kimberly Douglas

Inspired by her own personal experience with care giving, Kimberly Douglas joined Ashford in April 2024, in the Memphis, TN office as a Financial Representative. Her primary objective is making a difference by educating her clients on solutions to problems that involve understanding cash-flow and the impact a financial plan that evolves with you over the years can have over time.  

Previously she worked with Appaloosa Broadcasting managing sales for 15 radio stations out west. Most of her career was in Marketing, Sales, and Strategic Partnership roles for media companies like Time-Warner/Media Networks Inc., Forbes, Petersen Publishing, iHeart Media and The Garden & Gun magazine.

In her previous insurance sales role from 2009-2016 with Markel Insurance, she worked in the specialty division and managed the Arabian Horse Practice. This division focused on equine related coverage like Equine Mortality, Equine Medical/Surgical, Farm & Ranch (P&C) and Equine related liability within the Arabian horse community both nationally and internationally.

Kimberly chose to move to a career in the financial services industry because she realized, after caring for her mother, the profound impact good planning and preparation can have on your overall well-being. The significance of having a financial strategy in place can alleviate a lot of tension, stress, and financial hardship for individuals and families. Good behavior with money and healthy discussions about financial goals are the pathway to smoother transitions in life.   At the same time, she was caring for her parents, two of her closest friends had similar situations with their parents. They were all struggling to find answers and had made assumptions about Medicare that were incorrect. The real cost of not being prepared created new problems and harder conversations with family members.

Therefore, she decided she wanted to focus on helping individuals with real financial literacy so they would not feel overwhelmed by government programs like Medicare and other insurance.  Sharing with clients that a good financial plan is built to handle any situation, good or bad if you are prepared. She takes great pride in helping her clients understand the fundamentals needed to help them reach their goals at any age whether they are starting to save and invest or looking for retirement planning solutions that include long-term financial planning. She hosts numerous education events around Memphis that focus on Women & Investing, Better Financial Outcomes for Individuals & Families, and the advantages of having healthy conversations with loved ones about Long-Term Care planning.

In her spare time, she volunteers with Church Health, AngelStreet Memphis and other local projects. Kimberly enjoys owning and showing her Arabian horse as well as hiking, skiing, and running, and being outside with her two Standard Poodles.
