Thomas Hicks

Atlanta Office

An entrepreneur and former business owner, Thomas Hicks looks at life’s challenges through a perspective Henry Ford once shared, “Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal.” Never seeing life’s challenges as obstacles, Thomas focuses on growth and creating the right path to a solution. He brings this mindset to his clients, applying his life experiences and lessons learned to help others accomplish their financial goals.

Conscious of the effects student loan debt can have on a student’s financial future, Thomas worked full-time after graduating from Walton High School and saved to go to college. While putting himself through classes at Southern Polytechnic, Thomas and his brother started a custom furniture business. Centering their business on customer service and constructing high-end, quality furniture, the demand quickly grew, and Thomas made the decision to step back from his studies to expand the business. While he enjoyed the success of a growing company, Thomas realized he had little time left to spare with his family. He made the difficult decision to sell the company to pursue a new career with a big impact. Thomas remains passionate about learning, taking classes on areas of interest to him, and helping educate others on proper allocation and structure of income to eliminate debt that so many people face.

Born in Savannah, Georgia, Thomas’ family moved to Tampa before planting roots in Marietta, Georgia where he grew up. He and his wife, Hailey, got married in May 2017 and bought their first home in Marietta, Georgia shortly after. They enjoy being by the water, whether it’s a weekend at Lake Sinclair or a trip to the Florida Keys. In Thomas’s spare time, he enjoys spending time with family, reading, playing and refereeing sports of all types, hunting, and vegetable gardening.
